Night Owl Blanket Skills Round Up

I am so excited about this blanket being released with Happily Hooked Magazine’s Pattern Pack Pro! I cannot even begin to describe how much it meant to me to be included.

In this pattern there may be some stitches, methods, or techniques that you may have never tried before. Do not worry though, we all had to learn somewhere right!? Here is a list of where you can find tutorials or videos for those. I have created a playlist on youtube for all the videos listed below. You can find the playlist here. I do encourage everyone to check out the other links listed as well and get to know some great designers, instructors and makers.

Tunisian Basics: TL Yarncrafts has an amazing video on all the tunisian basics. You can find the video tutorial here.

Tunisian Honeycomb Stitch: Toni over at TL Yarncrafts has another great tutorial for this stitch. She is such a great teacher ya’ll. Her tutorial can be found here.

Cabled Owl Motif: I love this owl so much. I very very slightly modified this cabled owl dishcloth from Knit and Crochet Ever After. She as a great video tutorial here. This pattern/motif is so gorgeous and she is such an amazing instructor.

Double Slip Stitch: I could not find a great tutorial for this stitch so I uploaded a basic video of how to here.

Left and Right Leaning Cable: Ok, so I learned from the great Kim Guzman on this one. I mean, really, she is the teacher we all aspire to be right? The video I learned from only shows a left leaning cable and uses only 6 stitches, however the technique is the same for the right leaning cable and with more stitches. The difference is whether you bring your cabled stitches to the front of your work or the back. The video I learned from can be found here.

And there you have it. This round up covers all the stitches and techniques that you’ll need to know to be able to make this blanket.

I cannot wait to see what everyone makes!
