Tunisian Braided Cable Ear Warmer

IMG_20180803_130414_717Recently I have been trying to figure out the best way to make some simple cables with tunisian crochet. I thought that since you work with “live” stitches in tunisian there has to be an “easier” way to make cables than in traditional crochet.

So I did some google searching and found some videos that showed how to do a simple twisted cable. This was great, accept the cables were always extremely tight and really had more of a look of twisted stitches than it did cables.

Next I watched a bajillion knitting videos about cables to see if I could find a way to make tunisian cables look and feel a little more like knitted cables………..it was the pesky return pass that really had me hitting roadblocks and then…..the light bulb went off.

What if……stay with me now……what if you did not include your cable stitches in your return pass?! Brilliant! And that is how the cozy, thick, stretchy, beautiful cabled ear warmer came to be.

I hope that you enjoy making this as much as I did!
